What is the ‘Ogden Legacy’? |
|
It’s a legacy of service, integrity, commitment, and love for our community—no one did it better than my grandfather, J. Carl Ogden. Carl started his agency working out of the old Sears building on 3rd Street in 1955. He wrote his first policy on a tire in the auto shop! For many , many years he worked in a small booth on the 2nd floor of Sears, building his agency, until in the early 1980’s he moved from the Sears building to an office on East Market Street. In 1990 he teamed up with my Uncle Jim Ogden here on East Pine Street. In 1996 my uncle tragically died of a heart attack while skiing— at that point my mother, Victoria Wootton, joined the agency to take Jim’s place. Carl retired in 2000 and Victoria became the sole owner of the agency. I had worked summers at the office while in college, but had moved away after school. However in 2000 I was ready to return to my hometown, and Victoria asked me to come work in the agency, bringing me onboard in June of that year. In 2007 we incorporated, forming Ogden Legacy, Inc. with Victoria as President. Mom ran a great office but her heart is in her farming, and slowly she turned more of the day-to-day operation over to me— until in February 2009 I became the principal agent and President of Ogden Legacy, Inc. In 2010 we took over the Clarke/LeGrand agency in Clearfield, and added over 1100 accounts to our office. We also added new staff to better service our clients and reaffirm our commitment to Clearfield County. It is our goal to be the BEST insurance agency in the county—and if we fail to live up to that, please contact me personally. I know there are a lot of insurance options out there, but with our agency’s experience, competitive rates, and longtime commitment to the Clearfield area, I believe we are the best choice to meet all of your expectations.
